Fewer top scorers in SPM 2025 despite overall improvement in passes

The number of SPM 2025 candidates achieving straight A grades declined slightly, with 13,779 students (3.55%) earning A+, A, or A- in all subjects, down from 13,827 (3.65%) in 2024, Education Ministry director-general Datuk Dr Mohd Azam Ahmad reported.
However, those scoring A+ in all subjects increased to 376 from 352 last year.
Meanwhile, 92,347 candidates (23.76%) secured at least a credit in all subjects, up from 86,040 (22.73%), and 141,728 candidates (36.47%) passed all subjects, an improvement over 136,791 (36.13%) in 2024.
