Thailand’s Miss Farmer beauty pageant contest in Sa Kaew is unique as the competition aims to support a royal project in supporting buffalo rearing by farmers.
The competition, which will be held on March 24 and 25, sees 19 female contestants in the running for the title.
Contestants must be residents of the province for a minimum of three months while they must also learn about the lives of farmers and how to farm.
They girls must also learn how to ride on buffalo's back during a one-day course, which is not an easy task.
After winning the title, the title holder would need to spend a year promoting the project along with its school.
