The construction of five previously canceled Light Rail Transit Line 3 (LRT3) stations is now expected to be completed and operational by the second quarter of 2028, announced Datuk Hasbi Habibollah.
During the question-and-answer session in the Dewan Rakyat on Monday (Oct 28), the Deputy Transport Minister stated that Prasarana Malaysia Berhad is currently finalising the technical and financial details for the additional contract agreement on the project.
Hasbi noted that the original cost of the LRT3 project, approved in 2015, was RM31.65bil, but this was reduced to RM16.63bil in 2018 after the government implemented cost-saving measures by scaling down the project scope.
