French police clash with anti-far-right demonstrators after election

French protesters, including the anti-far right groups, clashed with riot police in Paris on July 7 after the first projected results from France's parliamentary election were announced.
The results, based on pollsters' projections, were a setback for Marine Le Pen's nationalist, eurosceptic National Rally (RN), which opinion polls had predicted would be the largest party but which placed only third.
