The government should enact the Political Parties Act to ensure political financing is transparent and regulated.
This is one of the three major recommendations under the political financing reforms report prepared by the G25 group of eminent Malays along with 69 other NGOs.
Economist Professor Dr Edmund Terence Gomez said such reforms are urgently needed as money politics has expanded beyond the internal scope of political parties into the national arena.
