GE15: Polls will proceed despite several state not dissolving assemblies, says Ismail Sabri

The 15th General Election (GE15) will still proceed even if several states refuse to dissolve their respective state legislative assemblies, says Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

The caretaker Prime Minister told reporters this after opening the Chin Chin 3 Compact Water Treatment Plant in Jasin, Melaka on Friday (Oct 14), and said this was because every state has the right to dissolve its state assembly at any time.

Ismail Sabri also said holding GE15 and state elections separately will only cause inconvenience to the people who will have to come out twice just to cast their votes, and will definitely incur higher costs for the Election Commission (EC).
