'Gigantic tree has fallen' - Ramaphosa on Winnie Mandela's death

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa paid tribute to Winnie Madikizela-Mandela on Monday, saying with her death at 81 "a gigantic tree has fallen". He was speaking after visiting her family home in Soweto, which became a gathering point for people mourning the combative anti-apartheid campaigner during her husband Nelson Mandela's decades in jail. Madikizela-Mandela died on Monday following a long illness. An official memorial service will be held on April 11 and a national funeral on April 14.
