GISB probe: Child seen abused in viral video among 187 rescued, says IGP

A child seen whipped in a viral video was one of four siblings separated from their father in 2021 and rescued during Ops Global, says Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain.
At a press conference on Monday (Sept 23), the IGP confirmed the child was rescued from a Global Ikhwan Services and Business Holdings (GISB) care home in Tapah, Perak, following an operation on Saturday (Sept 21).
Razarudin also reported that in the fourth phase of Ops Global on Saturday, 187 children were rescued and will undergo health checks before being placed in 11 shelter homes managed by the Welfare Department.
