Govt looking to locals for tourism in light of Covid-19

The government is boosting efforts to promote domestic tourism to offset the impact of declining international tourist arrivals to Malaysia due to the Covid-19 outbreak.
Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Mohamaddin Ketapi said that at the launch of the MYexperience booklet at the World Trade Centre near here on Thursday (Feb 20), adding that one of the "quick win" strategies to aggressively promote domestic tourism was the compilation of a MYexperience booklet by Tourism Malaysia, which showcases some 500 niche travel packages provided by 109 industry players.
