Govt reviewing purchase of antivirals following development of new drugs to treat Covid-19

Deputy Health Minister Datuk Dr Noor Azmi Ghazali told the Dewan Rakyat that the government will review the procurement of antivirals to treat Covid-19 patients following the emergence of new drugs for this purpose.
He clarified that the decision to procure 150,000 courses of Molnupiravir from Merck Sharp & Dohme in early October was made because it was the only oral Covid-19 antiviral drug at that time.
