Govt to enforce compulsory Covid-19 screening for foreign workers from Jan 1

The National Security Council will enforce the compulsory Covid-19 screening for foreign workers under Act 342 beginning Jan 1, so that action can be taken against employers that refuse to have their workers tested, says Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
The Senior Minister said that on Thursday, adding that although the government had enforced this on employers with foreign workers in all sectors in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Penang, Negri Sembilan and Sabah effective Dec 1, the Human Resources Ministry reported that there were still many employers who refuse to co-operate.
