Govt to order iconic Penang ferry service to continue, says Finance Minister

Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz has declared that the iconic Penang ferry service will continue to operate.
When wrapping up replies on debates on the Temporary Measures for Government Financing (Corona Disease (Covid-19) (Amendment) Bill 2020 in Dewan Rakyat on Thursday (Dec 17), Tengku Zafrul said the government will impose a condition on Penang Port to carry on the iconic and heritage ferry service.
He said this condition would be imposed in relation to RM15mil out of the RM30mil approved for Penang Port Sdn Bhd (PPSB) to take over the ferry service.
