Govt will not announce new projects during election campaigns, says Anwar

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has assured that no new projects, policy launches or government machinery will be used during the Johor and Negri Sembilan election campaigns.

Responding to Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim (PN-Arau) during Prime Minister's Question Time in the Dewan Rakyat on Tuesday (June 30), Anwar said the government's position remained unchanged and was in line with Section 24B of the Election Offences Act 1954, as confirmed by the Election Commission.

Addressing concerns over Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming's project announcement on Johor's nomination day on June 27, Anwar said the project had already been approved earlier.
