Students and faculty at the University of Toronto held a ceremony on Monday (June 03) for Palestinian victims of the war in Gaza who they said will never be able to graduate themselves.
Chandni Desai, assistant professor at the University of Toronto, told Reuters the students are asking the university to disclose and to divest from weapons companies whose bombs have killed many of Gaza’s students.
All 12 of Gaza's higher education institutions have been destroyed or damaged by Israel, leaving nearly 90,000 students stranded, and more than 350 teachers and academics had been killed as of May 13, according to Palestinian official data.
