Health DG: Blood centres’ supply running low during Covid-19 pandemic

Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said despite various promotional activities by the Health Ministry, it could only reach 57% of its blood collection target to date.
During the movement control order (MCO) period, blood supply at the National Blood Centre and other blood collection centres throughout the country has decreased by 40% compared with the previous years.
A total of 67,135 bags of blood was collected from March to May this year.
