The Health Ministry has denied a media report claiming that a 14-year-old who was arrested for trespassing and impersonating a Sultan Idris Shah Hospital (HSIS) staff member in Serdang recently performed medical procedures, including prescribing medication to patients.

Deputy Health Minister Datuk Lukanisman Awang Sauni informed reporters at the media briefing on mental health and MySAVE programme as well as safe and responsible media reporting on suicidal behaviour on Thursday (Aug 15) that the ministry has not received any reports confirming the allegations and that an investigation is ongoing.

He said the girl's ruse was uncovered when the staff became suspicious of her behaviour and unusually youthful appearance, adding that HSIS is improving security measures at the facility following the incident.
