Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said his ministry would propose periodic screenings for MPs and other workers at Parliament to curb the Covid-19 infections there.
Dr Noor Hisham said that on Tuesday, adding that one of the auxiliary police officers on duty at the Prime Minister's Office who was assigned to Parliament duty had tested positive with Covid-19 three days before the Parliament session.
The Health DG said the Seridana cluster then emerged after the index case’s spouse as well as several auxiliary police officers also tested positive for Covid-19.
The screening before the Parliament session also detected a sign language translator and an officer to a senator to be Covid-19 positive.
