Health officers can't arrest people with infectious diseases like criminals, says minister

Health officers from the Health Ministry do not possess the authority to arrest and detain individuals suspected of infectious diseases in the same manner as criminal cases handled by the police, said minister Datuk Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad in a press conference on Tuesday (Dec 3).
