Heated exchange after minister insists ex-AG agreed in principle to Riza Aziz’s 1MDB settlement

Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Takiyuddin Hassan on Monday claimed that former Attorney-General (AG) Tan Sri Tommy Thomas had in principle agreed to settle the money laundering case with accused Riza Shahriz Abdul Aziz involving US$248 million in funds linked to the 1MDB scandal.
Takiyuddin’s interpretation of a handwritten note of Thomas about the “settlement” was contested by several opposition MPs.
