Home Ministry to crack down on entry of illegal immigrants

The Home Ministry wants to crack down on illegal immigrants who use "jalan tikus" (backdoor routes) to sneak into Johor, especially during the current Covid-19 outbreak.
Its minister Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin said that during a press conference following a visit to the Johor police headquarters in Johor Baru on Tuesday, adding that a heavier punishment would be imposed on the tekong (boat skipper) and Malaysians facilitating the entry of illegal immigrants into the country.
