Hurricane Simon floods Mexico’s streets overnight, as rising river threatens evacuations

Residents along Mexico’s coast grappled with flooding on Sunday (Oct 11) as Category 4 Hurricane Simon approached, threatening destructive winds, dangerous storm surges and potentially deadly flooding.

In the port city of Manzanillo, Colima state, the Navy helped pump rainwater out of homes, while residents told the flooding began at dawn.
