IGP assures families that 12 detainees linked to the LTTE are well cared for

Tan Sri Abdul Hamid Bador assured family members of the 12 detainees with alleged links to the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) that they are well cared for and asked them to be patient as police continued with investigations.
The Inspector-General of Police said he sympathised with the family members and understood they would like to spend Deepavali together but defended the arrests of the 12 for national security reasons.
Abdul Hamid said this after officiating the Police Sports Day Award Ceremony at the Malaysia Police Training Centre on Tuesday (Oct 22).
