IGP: Police to set up at least 300 roadblocks, mull increase penalty for MCO violations

At least 300 roadblocks would be enforced from Wednesday (Jan 13) at exit tolls and state borders as many states and Federal Territories would begin the movement control order, said Tan Sri Abdul Hamid Bador.
The Inspector-General of Police said that on Tuesday (Jan 12), adding that proposals to strengthen Covid-19 enforcement are still in the works, including increasing the RM1,000 compound.
The IGP also denied that the state of emergency was being used by the police for added powers.
