IGP: Stop spreading fake news on coronavirus or face brunt of the law

The country's top cop calls on social media users to stop stoking fear by spreading fake news.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Abdul Hamid Bador said there were too many "expert doctors" online, who spread news on the novel coronavirus, without checking. The IGP said that on Tuesday and added that stern action will be taken against anyone who spread fake news.
On the virus front, the IGP said the police will provide assistance to the Health Ministry and relevant authorities to prevent the spread of the virus.
