IGP: We have identified and will act against those spreading fake news on shooting

The police have identified some of those spreading racially-charged fake news and irresponsible comments on social media over a recent shooting incident in Penang, says the Inspector-General of Police.

Tan Sri Abdul Hamid Bador told that at a special press conference at Bukit Aman on Wednesday, adding that Bukit Aman CID has identified the suspects and we will call them up to record their statements.

The IGP also touched on the incident in Batu Arang where three robbers were shot down recently and said irresponsible parties had come out with comments with no basis and made allegations against police.
