Information Dept authorised to revoke media cards, says Fahmi

The Information Department can revoke the media certification card (KPM), said Fahmi Fadzil.
When asked on Tuesday (Feb 20) whether the action can be done under the Malaysian Code of Ethics for Journalists, the Communications Minister said the department is responsible for issuing the card to media practitioners.
Fahmi then called on the Information Department to assess the suitability of extending the validity period of media certification cards for international media practitioners, currently requiring annual renewal, in contrast to the two-year validity period for local media.
