JB High Court frees Immigration officers of human trafficking charges

Two senior Immigration officers have been acquitted and discharged by the Johor Baru High Court from a charge of human trafficking.
Haris Fadzilah Abu Bakar, 51, and Norhayati Abu Bakar, 53, a deputy director and senior officer respectively, were freed from the charge under Section 26A of the Anti-Trafficking in Persons and Anti-Smuggling of Migrants Act (Atipsom) 2007 on Monday (Oct 16).
