Jia Rong and Shin Peng the new darlings of Malaysia's wushu

National wushu exponent Si Shin Peng made his world championships debut in Brasilia but he emerged as the biggest recipient of the windfall from the National Sports Incentive Scheme (Shakam).
He pocketed RM166,666.66 for winning gold in men’s qiangshu and jianshu, as well as bronze in the duilian team event.
Another debutant Lee Jia Rong also took home RM126,666.66 from her gold in women’s daoshu, gold in the women’s duilian team event and bronze in dunshu.
