The Integrity Unit within an organisation needs to be empowered as a strategic partner to top management in identifying corruption risks early, improving system weaknesses and building a culture of integrity.

Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Johari Abdul said that the Integrity Unit should not be seen merely as a unit that manages complaints, compliance, or follow-up actions after a violation occurs.
