Kapar MP Datuk Abdullah Sani Abdul Hamid on Monday urged the government not to remain silent on the issue of companies dismissing their employees. He pleaded to the government to intervene to resolve the issue concerning Media Prima Berhad.
It is learnt that Media Prima notified both the Sistem Televisyen Malaysia Berhad’s Workers’ Union and Sistem Televisyen Malaysia Berhad’s Executive Union that the service of 190 workers would be terminated with three months’ notice. The workers were offered a mutual separation, or put through a one-year programme to reskill and possible redeploy them.
