KL Immigration Dept collected over RM10mil in compounds since January

More than RM10.04mil in compounds for various immigration offences was collected by the Kuala Lumpur Immigration Department during the first six months of this year.
Its director Hamsha Injau said a total of 556 charges were filed under Section 15(4) of the Immigration Act 1959/63 for overstaying, making it the highest recorded offence during the period.
