Kolam: An art form that brings colour to special occasions

Traditional South Indian kolam is commonly made using rice flour. Rangoli, another form of Indian floor art, often incorporates coloured powders, rice and flowers. In Malaysia, colourful rangoli and kolam designs are particularly popular at weddings and during festive occasions such as Deepavali.

Several kolam artists share with us a love for the art form and have been commissioned to create designs at event venues over the years.
