The Budget 2025's focus on improving welfare for children with disabilities, including dedicated provisions for the autism community, underscores the Women, Family, and Community Development Ministry’s (KPWKM) commitment to advocating for the needs of children with disabilities and those with rare diseases, said Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri.

Speaking to reporters after attending the Spastic Fun Run 29th Annual Charity Walk-Jog-Wheel-A-Thon at Dataran Merdeka on Sunday (Nov 17), Nancy reaffirmed the government’s dedication to ensuring these children receive equal treatment, proper care, and empowerment through the ministry’s allocations in Budget 2025.

Nancy also highlighted that, as of October 31, the Social Welfare Department (JKM) has registered over 740,000 persons with disabilities (PwDs), a significant increase from the 633,653 registered in 2023.
