Logging companies required to provide bonds or deposits for forest replanting

The government requires logging companies to provide bonds or deposits to ensure they fulfil their obligations to restore and replant licensed forest areas, the Dewan Rakyat was told on Monday (Oct 12).

Deputy Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Syed Ibrahim Minister Syed Noh said the measure was intended to ensure compliance with forest conservation requirements.
