Loke: 2,000 JPJ officers to be deployed during CNY, seven major offences will be non-compoundable

As many as 2,000 Road Transport Department (JPJ) personnel would be on duty during the Chinese New Year period to reduce road crashes and deaths, says Anthony Loke.
The Transport Minister said that after jointly launching the road safety campaign for Chinese New Year with Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi on Tuesday (Jan 17), adding that during the operations, there will be seven major traffic offences that are non-compoundable, meaning that the offenders will be issued with a compound fine but will be directly referred to court.
