Lokman Adam released on police bail

Umno supreme council member Datuk Lokman Noor Adam has been released on police bail.

The Pemantau Malaysia Baru (PMB) president, who was arrested on Thursday night to assist in investigations into sedition, was seen leaving Dang Wangi Police District Headquarters (IPD) at about 10.30am on Friday.

Lokman was detained in connection with an investigation under Section 4(1) of the Sedition Act.

When met by the press outside the IPD, Lokman said he was thankful to be released as he could now attend the nomination day for the Cameron Highlands by-election on Saturday.

Lokman added that he had also lodged a police report alleging that there was a cover-up in the investigation into the murder of Fire and Rescue Department personnel Muhammad Adib Mohd Kassim, 24.
