A fatal accident at KM 371 on the North-South Expressway (South bound) involving a trailer near the Slim River, Perak’s exit Wednesday night caused a diesel and hydraulic oil spill that entered the highway's drainage system.
Selangor tourism, environment, green technology and Orang Asli affairs committee chairman Hee Loy Sian said the pollutant can potentially cause disruption to the Bernam River Headworks Water Treatment Plant in Selangor, adding however that relevant authorities had started the clean-up and mitigation efforts, and would continue to monitor the situation.
