Love scam: Nearly 80% of victims are women, some are married, says CCID director

Close to 80 percent of love scam victims in the country are women, many of whom happen to be married.

Bukit Aman commercial crime investigation department (CCID) director Datuk Seri Ramli Mohamed Yoosuf revealed on Friday (Nov 3) that between January to October this year, a total of 810 cases have been reported, with 644 love scam victims being women.

Ramli said some of the married victims might have indulged in virtual romances, and advised them to stop this behaviour to avoid becoming victims of scams and suffering financial losses, and to find the best solution to the problems they face.
