MACC chief explains criteria of a whistleblower, says protection act needs tightening

Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief commissioner Latheefa Koya on Tuesday clarified again the definitions on whistleblowing, and explained on who qualifies for immunity and protection under the law.
Latheefa also said the agency has found some legal loopholes in the existing Whistleblower Protection Act 2010 in which she will recommend to lawmakers to tighten up.
The chief commissioner also gave an assurance that anyone seeking the MACC’s protection will receive immunity if their cases were legit.
