Malaysia begins repatriating first batch of Myanmar nationals

Malaysia began repatriating Myanmar nationals from immigration detention on Tuesday (Sept 29), the first phase of a voluntary return programme for 5,000 people.

Buses arrived under police escort at the Manjung stadium in Perak before detainees were moved to the Lumut Naval Base, where three Myanmar Navy vessels await.
