Malaysia expected to become an aged nation by 2043, says Anwar

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said that Malaysia became an ageing nation in 2021 and is projected to reach aged nation status by 2043, a demographic transition that will demand increased financial resources.

He said the National Ageing Action Plan 2025–2045 has been formulated as a comprehensive guide to prepare for the challenges of an ageing nation and ensure no one is left behind.
