Independent mixed doubles shuttlers Shevon Lai-Goh Soon Huat could not overcome their health woes as they faltered to USA's Presley Smith-Jennie Gai 9-21, 17-21 in the Malaysia Open second round on Thursday (Jan 8).

Shevon was floored by food poisoning the night before their first round match on Wednesday.
