Malaysia’s total Covid-19 cases exceed 90k, over 1,000 healthcare workers infected in third wave

Malaysia recorded 1,683 more Covid-19 infections on Friday (Dec 18), taking the country’s total of confirmed cases past the 90k mark to 90,816, says the Health Ministry.
Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham said six new clusters have also been detected in the past 24 hours.
Dr Noor Hisham also said more than 1,000 healthcare workers have been infected with Covid-19 from the current third wave.
Hospitals in the Klang Valley recorded the most cases, with healthcare workers at Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah (HTAR) topping the list at 54 cases, while 29 healthcare workers and 28 patients from the Serdang hospital have also tested positive for Covid-19.
