Malaysia to let Lynas continue running rare earths plant despite waste concerns

Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said the government will allow Australian rare earths producer Lynas Corp to continue operating a processing plant in Gebeng, Pahang.
He was speaking at a news conference in Tokyo on Thursday after attending the Future of Asia conference.
Dr Mahathir also spoke on Malaysia's decision to send plastic waste back to the countries it came from and the US-China trade war.
