Merbok flood victims hide in attic when ‘tsunami from mountain’ strikes

The "tsunami from the mountain" which came pouring into Muhd Rizan Mahmud's single-storey house in Taman Lembah Merbok, Kedah on Wednesday took away almost everything he and his family owned.

The 38-year-old army retiree, his wife and four children hid in the attic of their house to keep themselves away from the gushing floodwater.
