Mitra scandal: 'Datuk' and businessman plead not guilty to charges in separate cases

52-year-old company director Datuk L. Ragu Raman pleaded not guilty to six charges of criminal breach of trust involving funds of about RM5.18mil from the Malaysian Indian Community Transformation Unit (Mitra) in Ipoh, Perak, while businessman Datuk B. Reghu, 66, was charged at the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court with 35 counts of making false claims amounting to more than RM625,000 in 2021, also from Mitra funds.
