More cases due to Omicron but fewer deaths, ICU patients, says Khairy

The current increase in Covid-19 cases is not affecting the national health system, although the country is now facing the threat of Omicron variants that can spread more easily, says Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin.
The Health Minister on Monday (Jan 7) said this is largely contributed by the achievement of complete vaccination coverage for most of the population, and recommended to those who are eligible, especially the elderly and individuals with comorbidities, to receive booster doses.
