More than 900 infants diagnosed with hearing problems last year, says Dr Dzulkefly

At an event in Cyberjaya on Saturday (May 18), Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad revealed that 68,823 newborns had undergone hearing screenings before they reached 29 days old between Dec 2023 to March 2024. He said a total of 987 out of 253,822 infants screened under the Universal Newborn Hearing Screening programme in 2023 were diagnosed with hearing problems.
