Motion to cut RM1.95mil for Malaysia's presence in Expo Dubai rejected in Parliament

A motion by a lawmaker to slash RM1.95mil earmarked under Budget 2021 for Malaysia's participation in Expo 2020 Dubai was rejected by Dewan Rakyat on Tuesday (Dec 8).
The expo, originally scheduled for October 2020 to April 2021, has been deferred to October 2021 until March 2022 because of the threat of Covid-19.
The motion by Petaling Jaya MP Maria Chin Abdullah was subsequently rejected by a voice vote.
