NAIO to study laws to combat future technology challenges, says Gobind

The National Artificial Intelligence Office (NAIO), set to launch in December, will assess the need to update existing laws or introduce new legislation concerning artificial intelligence (AI) and other emerging technologies.
Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo announced in the Dewan Rakyat on Monday (Nov 11) that the study aims to address challenges arising from technological advancements, including concerns over personal data breaches.
Gobind also revealed that the Personal Data Protection Commissioner is developing seven guidelines to assist data controllers in Malaysia, with three of these directly addressing AI technology.
